June 20, 2008 – Ingredient hunting and nostalgia in Silverlake
What possessed me to go out in 110-degree weather? Well, when I woke up and decided to head for Silverlake, I didn’t realize how hot it would be. I had been meaning to go for weeks to pick up the glazed, roasted figs from The Cheesestore in Silverlake for my Daring Baker’s Challenge recipe.
